バリ舞踊とガムラン音楽 Sekehe Gong Kiduling Suwari ① Sep.2018
現在ウブドでは３つの女性ガムラングループによるバリ舞踊定期公演があり、そのうちの１つ、毎週金曜日の夜にウブドクロッド集会所で開催されているキドゥリン・スワリの公演を観に行った。女性グループを観るのは今回が初めて。
パンフレットの説明によると、1960年に観光客向け公演が始まったが、演奏家は男性ばかりだった。2004年9月28日、村の会議で女性ガムラングループ結成が決まり、”Sekeh Gong Kiduling Suwari"と名付けられ、2007年6月1日に初公演が行われた、とのこと。
定刻の19時30頃鮮やかなピンクとブルーの衣装のイブたちが入場して楽器の前に着座した。いつもの男性グループとは雰囲気が異なり、女性的な華やかさで舞台が明るく感じる。
まずはオープニングのインストゥルメントのガムラン演奏からスタート。室内ということもあり、音が館内に反響して迫力がある。気のせいか演奏曲が女性的な優しさのあるなめらかな曲調に感じた。演奏の後半では歌も交じった。定期公演で歌を聴くのは珍しい。
The story of Ubud Kelod's sekeh gong formation （Association of South Ubud）
Ubud Kelod's sekeh gong began with a womens's group that was playing Balinese instrumental as a hobby. Later they began dancing and playing music for village temple ceremonies.
In 1960 the Ubud Kelod community had started working to improve tourism by showing musical performances of classical stories from the Ramayana epic.However,the musicians were always men.
On September 28,2004,after meeting with the village community leaders and the PKK,the decision was made to have the women's group also perform for tourists.The group was to be called Sekeh Gong Kiduling Suwari.
On June 1,2007,they had their first performance.the women had their turn to show their ability not onl in performing classical dance but also in playing Balinese instruments.Since then they have worked to become a popular tourist choice in Ubud.
